Radio & TV Commercials – Generate Real Income!

By Tom Gauger

As a small business owner, you’ve wondered and just how do they do it?  Or a better question is, “Where do they get all of the money to keep up with the almighty advertising consuming giant?”  The question isn’t why they do it, the answer lies somewhere between they have to do it and because their advertising is so effective that they must keep doing it to keep up brand awareness and overall sales.   And they’ve done this for years and know that it works.  As a small business, just how do you do it?

You’ve been tinkering with the idea of radio and TV advertising for quite some time now, and you debate between the good old fashioned direct mail and media advertising.  Should you go with radio or TV at all?  Those are good questions and not every company and product benefits from every advertising avenue - But if your product or service can be pictured and that’s a figure of speech, because we all conger up ideas when avidly listening to a radio spot, then radio and TV might just be for you.

The fact remains that 98% of consumers buy from who they think of first and you know why?, because they want to know who they are buying from.  If that last statement holds true, then the question is, are you first in the consumer’s minds for your service or product?  You better be.  And really one of the best ways to do that on a broad scale is with radio or TV.  Print advertising is great, it just costs a lot.  Radio and TV don’t have nearly the same cost per impression.  Sure it’s true that with print the consumer sees your ad virtually every time before they keep your coupon or throw the flyer away, but with radio and TV you are able to cross difficult boundaries and are at an advantage for creating and maintaining otherwise difficult to place services or products by creating ads with familiar voices, faces and music – And music may just be the most important part.

Ever go to hear a keynote speaker and what stays with you throughout the day isn’t what the speaker said, but what the singer sang.  Music is able to cross boundaries in the brain that make a message, in this case your company jingle and music bed, that when done right can form an incredible bond in the mind of your buyers.  You think of all of the great singable commercials through the years and say that isn’t so.  Those jingles go way beyond a cute, memorable ending line, they are for the most part the whole commercial.  And McDonalds, Burger King, Crest and so many others understood this years back.

Do you understand that?  And understanding that doesn’t mean hiring a guy to write a $200 jingle and then wonder why it doesn’t work.  You try to stay way from chincy in your business and you should with your advertising as well. You don’t have to spend big bucks on music, but you do need to go with a reputable company like ReelMusicianPro.com and get them to write you an effective and compelling jingle and music bed.  You want there to be a voice over for a reason, music for a reason and in the right places at the right times to effectively punctuate your message and drive home your company image and appearing as number one in the market even if you’re still working at getting there – image is everything.

Bottom line is that for you to be effective in the long and short term you need credible and effective advertising that crosses many platforms and creates a bond with your customers.  Creating bonds with your customers is what it’s all about and it’s what will keep you as the leader of the pack – After all, 98% of consumers buy from who they think of first!
